About

Ken Stamper

My therapeutic style is approachable, warm, curious, and, when necessary, challenging. My practice is based on core Gestalt Therapy values of inclusivity, appreciation of difference and curiosity. I’m also strongly influenced by The Enneagram, a system of personality typing that describes patterns in how people interpret the world and manage their emotions that combines traditional wisdom with modern psychology. I also utilize aspects of evidence-based modalities such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral therapy) when appropriate.

I have a particular interest working with adolescents, young adults, and tech industry professionals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and a sense of loneliness that can be exacerbated by the countless distractions of which older generations could hardly conceive- screen use, bullying, video games, substance use. I am profoundly interested in the impact that social media and the internet are having on our mental health and strongly believe in the impact that therapy can have to create change.

I have extensive experience working individually with adolescents and as a family therapist at Paradigm Treatment, a residential treatment center for teens. My approach can help teens and families navigate stuck patterns that have inhibited growth and change. Please contact me for a consultation on how I can help your teen, young adult or your family.

I’m also in the process of completing my training as a AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists) certified Sex Therapist for adults and couples and enjoy working with sex and sexuality.

Because client safety is my primary concern, all sessions are currently being conducted online due to COVID-19.
